About Me
To ascend requires that we see beyond the weeds tangled within our minds that hold us back and limit the growth towards all things we wish to cultivate.
I grew up in a very strict, large family that was physically and mentally abusive. The dominant presence of religion in my home environment made it very difficult for me to focus on any of my needs or feelings. This truly diminished my understanding that there was an entire world out there open to me, where I could reach far beyond what I thought were my limits.
My name is Naomi Alexander. From childhood, I found myself evolving and looking inward to understand myself. As time went on, I knew I just wanted to be free. To truly be who I was meant to exist without seeking the approval of my family, or allowing space for the judgement of others around me.
As I entered young adulthood, I knew I wanted to help others and answer a calling I felt to be a leader. I had an opportunity to join a leadership development program at my job. To qualify, applicants were required to write an essay about why they wanted to be a leader, and I had my sister help me articulate my thoughts and ambitions on paper. My first-level manager denied me the opportunity without much consideration, but I knew I was qualified and able to demonstrate I was the perfect fit for the program. Thankfully, another manager overruled the admission denial and allowed me into the program. From that point on, i t was full-speed ahead. I went right up the ladder in the company, but even with the personal success I had achieved, I knew my mission still was to be of service to others.
Being in management has taught me how to coach people, bring out their strengths, and teach them to manage through their weaknesses. Coaching has come naturally to me. My friends, family, acquaintances, and perfect strangers often seek out my advice and help with all sorts of issues, professional and personal. Every time I have been able to help, it has felt rewarding and I’ve understood this as a unique gift from God I needed to expand upon. As of this year, I have become a certified Life Coach. I know that this is my life’s purpose and I am here to help others grow into their higher selves. To ascend requires that we see beyond the weeds tangled within our minds that hold us back and limit the growth towards all things we wish to cultivate. This metaphor is my inspiration for choosing the name:
Beyond the Weeds coaching service.
